And now for the pageant girl workout!!

(Newport)

The weekend had finally arrived of the finals of Miss Inspiration UK! A two day final showcasing the beautiful female form whether it be slim, curvy, big, tall or small! I was so excited to be reunited with the South West girlies, I arrived a little bit before them so had a lovely stroll in the spring sun (it was even warm as well!!!) around newport before getting ready for the first night of the final, the PJ party!!!!

(Disney onsie!)

My roomie Celene came in bang on time, quick change then met the other girls to all stroll in our jammies through Newport to the Dolman Theatre, not the strangest thing Wales has seen this past week!! Everyone looked so comfy and eager to meet everyone and see what we had in stall for us. And of course get some cotton candy! We were all split into our divisions and grouped up to get to know each other, and provide an entertainment piece. Some sang, others danced, but my group?? We did a PT session! Everyone was on their feet and squatting whilst we put them through their paces, along with the other girls doing their workout based on their life so Sarah doing the mummy workout, Grace doing the air hostess, Amy doing he healthcare and then Pamela doing the Karate! And we were voted the best! So we got little crowns and first dibs on the cupcakes! Second was create outfits using bin bags and other items, we totally rocked that runway then a nice catwalk off at the end. My walk was sassy and included a squat, of course!!!!

(South West girls reunited!!)

Next day (sat) was pageant final day!!! Bright and early for a whole day of rehearsals, interviews and performance!! First of we learnt, well attempted to learn the opening number dance to Sia, Chalinder which has a lot of arm and feet movements so I mostly freestyled as I was at the back! Then going through all the stages, as well as having our interviews! I felt my interview could of been a little better, esp as I shook the judges hands forgetting my hands are always cold! (cold hands, warm heart!!!). Then the manic rush to get ready for the opening! I have short hair compared to the long haired beauties so it didn't take as long, just there trying to make it as big as possible! I am awful when it comes to looking like a girl!!

(Opening round- White Dress. Sherri Hill by Stardust Boutique)

Opening round was a white dress, which I had two beautiful sherri hill dresses from Stardust, of course where else?!! I lent my other to the other Hannah who placed 3rd overall (my dress totally had a say in that, I kid ;) I'm not usually a fan of cocktail dresses as for a curvy girl they just make your butt huge but I had alot of compliments as well as feel like a proper princess!!!

(Round 2- Fun Fashion. Outfit made by yours truly!!)

Next up was fun fashion, which of course meant the Disney dress was back! Complete with the ankle breaker disney shoes and minnie mouse ears!! This was the only round I was worried about as the shoes are sky scrappers of heels. I feared I would end up on those youtube videos of pageant girls falling off stage but I kept my cool and even did a twirl, not taking my eyes off the judges and strutting my stuff! I had my swimwear underneath as we had to super quick change into swimwear for the next round!

(Flying the flag for swimwear!)

Swimwear, the round every girl dreads. I hadn't done a swimwear section for three years since the Miss Galaxy finals. My body is not like it used to be, it has been abused from being a holiday rep and good food, as well as a lack of routine until I came back to work as a personal trainer. It's not like it used to be when i didn't eat properly and had an unhealthy relationship with my body. There are still many things I would change about me, mainly when i get stressed or nervous my condition means I bloat so no matter how many crunches I do i will still have a belly. But I am proud of my curves, I am also proud of my tattoos as well. This is a modern day society where we should be able to express ourselves through the clothes we wear and what we chose to put on our body. I went out here and worked my high low, strutted my stuff and even though I was one of the biggest, I still gave it everything I had!!

(Evening wear, Jovani the dress of dreams!)

Last round, my fav, evening wear. Once again I put on my jovani gown (Stardust again!!) and did my walk, getting that miss england turn perfect (for me anyways) as well as having my hair up for the first time!! Taking baby steps (usually I hate my ears and forehead so growing as a person!!). This is also the round I like to shop in my head at all the lovely gowns!! Interval break which involved doritos in our evening gowns, then back on stage for the crowing!!

(Miss congeniality winners!)

So overall, I didnt win the big crown. I dont know my true placement or scores but i know i didnt get into the top 20, which sadden me a bit as I felt I could of been there. I felt so amazing on stage and gave my best performance yet but rather than be sad and moan about it, there were clearly other girls who shone more or the judges were looking for something different, after all you cant be everyones cup of hot chocolate!! However, I did win one of the best awards of all, Miss Congeniality UK!!! This is the second time ive won it in this pageant and means so much as its the contestants that vote for it! I was just being my normal self, maybe its because I always had chocolate.... Overall I had an amazing time, met some great people and resaw some awesome girlies, which my girl Celene actually took the Woman's title!! Woohoo go girl! Got to try her crown on so i got to wear it at least once! We also got actual food halfway through provided for us which was amazing! I had chilli, heaven! I will be back next year, dedicating time to raise money and awareness now that I dont have to fight for my job!

(wedding dresses again, sigh what a life!)

But this pageant girl doesnt rest,on the sunday it was travel from Newport to the Swindon Wedding's VIP event which transformed the Swindon Supermarines Rugby Club into the most beautiful wedding venue!! I got to wear a stunning gown from Rachel's Wedding, who I have modelled for before and also get my make up done by Simply Beautiful. I got to meet up with Nicole again and wear pretty dresses and eat cake!! We had alot of future brides, I even helped sew the seed about one wedding dress who made the sell!!

(Dresses by Rachel's Wedding, props from Venue Uncovered)

We even got given these dresses to keep! Im not sure if im going to keep the dress as a gown or turn into a high low fashion wear but its so light and belle coloured!! Nicole really suited the blue one which has been modelled before by Miss Swindon 2012 Ela. I think this should be her dress to give her crown away this year. Photos are of course by the lovely CMG Photography. So that is my inspiration journey come to an end for this part. I of course will be reapplying and fundraising, but I feel I have left it far too long to not get back into the pageant scene, Zante took a big part of my year last year (wouldnt change it for the world though!) so this year is all about pageants and rediscovery of all things sparkly!!!! So if anyone has pageants to enter, charity events to attend or anything that you think will be of interest, give me a message!!

Lots of love

Retro baby!

(60's housewife with a twist)

Last weekend I went back in time to the 60's as I was one of the 60's models for the Brunel Centre Vintage and Retro Festival! This festival was everything retro from Vintage stalls selling records, fur coats and 50 peticoats to live music echoing the sounds of amazing artists such as Johnny Cash. I was with former Miss Swindon/Wiltshire finalists as well as the current Miss Wiltshire Nicole and had our make up done by the amazing Your Inspired Beauty who turned us into pin up vintage. Sugar oh Honey Honey also did all our hair, then it was time to rock the catwalk twice over!!

(Colour mad!)

My first outfit was bright as anything! We went for the colour blocking which was very popular back in the 60s, complete with some Rockabliltiy shoes to give it a twist! I love the bright colours, only thing after lunch was it was a bit tight after all that bread!! This outfit was from Carry on Vintaige which I have found out I will be modelling them again in May for a charity fashion show (more details on my pageant FB page).

(60S Housewife, complete with the hat)

My second look was inspired by the 60s housewife day look, complete with bag and hat, and fingerless gloves. Once again, I made the look a bit more rocky with the boots, this outfit was very comfy and I felt like I had stepped back in time!! Being on the catwalk again was a great feeling and good to pratice those pretty feet for the finals this weekend!! less than 5 days now!!!

(Sash time!)

After the first catwalk show, we got to play around with the vintage cars! Even though it looks sunny and well, it was sub freezing conditions!! We got some great shots though and the cars were amazing! I loved this caravan which had everything inside and you can actually rent them! I know what i'm doing next time I holiday in the UK!

(Wiltshire beauty queens)

These images are provided by the amazing CMG Photography! Now the countdown is on for the Miss Inspiration finals, I have all outfits and shoes, need to book my train tickets and try and make my hair a bit more presentable, oh and bake a cake!! Can't wait to meet all my sister queens again, jam away at the PJ party and get to dress up as a princess since all i live in is leggings and trainers being a PT! Wish me luck!!

Lots of Love

3 weeks and counting!

3 weeks until I see these faces again and all the other South West Inspiration finalists who made it to the Grand UK final which is of course, in 3 weeks!! I nearly have all the pieces of all my outfits ready, more time working out at the gym for that dreaded swimsuit round and of course the beauty that goes with it!  But back in normal life I have been very busy with work, which was why it was great to be able to take some time to find the perfect outfit's for the Vintage Fayre i will be modelling at, in exactly 2 weeks time!!

(Carry On Vintage with Sash of course!)

The first shop I will be modelling for is Carry on Vintage, and my theme was 60s! I think this era suits me to a tee! Lots of bright colours! Some of the dresses weren't made for my ahem curvy parts but we found a perfect outfit, full of colour. I loved this dress though, and this was a close second, if it wasnt for the Gun arms ;)

(Second outfit, loving the hat!)

Second store to be modelling for is Michie Nichie, which I only had to try one outfit and boom, all sorted! We've gone for the shoulder pad, clinched waist, with a hat for good measure! If it has a hat, its always going to be good!! The outfit was so good, someone in the shop has reserved it!! Lastly we went to Sugar oh Honey Honey who will being doing our Vintage hair and accessories

(Dressing room selfie of course!)

So the only thing I have to do now is wait patiently until I can get up on that stage and model again! I've missed the stage! Then a week after that, I will be strutting my stuff for Swindon! Tickets are on sale if you would like to come watch, support or just see some amazing outfits (and swimwear, remember the swimwear!!)

Remember the date: 14 March 2015 for a trip back in time, fashion, music, food, free stuff, me!

"I'm not included in the auction..."

 (Quick Sash selfie)

I had my first appearance as Miss Swindon Inspiration this week which was a charity dinner event organised by the Swindon Rotary club in aid of Koolas, a swindon based charity helping disabled children. It was all last minute for me as I rushed home for work, no electric in my house so got ready in the dark (pretty impressed I got my lashes on in the dark, proud girl moment!!) and off to see that the room was beautifully decorated (by Steph Trinci) and amazing puddings being served!!

(With one of the organisers John)

There were some great prizes on offer to bid for, I helped with some and was so tempted to bid on the England Rugby Shirt!! Then guest speaker Jan Molby, former Liverpool FC player spoke and was so funny! As a Liverpool fan it was great to see a living legend (at pepenaltiest least aha), as well as an comedian making the whole room laugh! The amazing event raised over £4000 which is a great amount and something they should be very proud of!!
(The cute charity with my gift from Steph)

Thank you for inviting me, and for the lovely gift! I used the Arbonne bath set last night and it smelled amazing, as well as keeping my skin nice and soft (and producing lots of bubbles!!) Now for the Vintage fayre in which I will be having my fitting this Saturday, I can not wait to get glammed up and walk the catwalk again! Less than 3 weeks to go until the finals, outfits are being planned, still need to beautify, at least I have the gym covered!!! For now, this queen needs to sign off to be up early for her pt clients!
Much love

Paparizzi flashes and becoming a Miss Swindon again

(Official pictures from the FOTG finals- Paul Carroll)

It's 2015 and this pageant girl is into her 5th pageant year! And boy is it looking to be a busy year! First of all I recieved my photo DVD of the Face of the Globe finals, after waiting for months to see them as well as my feedback. Some areas I need to work on but one comment was about my personality being bubbly but maybe refine it as the judges couldn't truly get who I was. Strange since I am what I am and I never hide it! So that will just have to go against me for future pageants!

(At the Brunel Wedding Fayre with sponsors CMG Photography :)

My first point of call was the Brunel Wedding fayre, where I was meant to model but instead helped out my past sponsor's stand CMG Photography (and happens to be ran by my big sister!). It has been so rewarding to see how far she has come from shooting me back when I was a teenager to having her own successful business in photography, wedding especially!!!
(From a past shoot with CMG Photography)

Then it was onto the new opening of the Cineworld in the newly vamped Regent Circus, which also includes a NANDOS (so excited to finally have this in Swindon), ASK Italian, Gourmet Burger and Prezzo amongst other food outlets. I was honoured to be asked to the Press night as part of my beauty queen duties alongside my other Wiltshire beauty queens Georgia and Nicole. As soon as we walked into the door it was straight to photos, flashes everywhere!! Every press outlet was there, and then the major and the MPs as well as the manager was in for a photo.

(Cineworld Press evening- February 2015)

We were then invited to pose in the hugeee screen with the ribbon, but instead of the normal ribbon, it was film roll!! Speeches were made and then we got to watch the exclusive screening of Jupiter Ascending which had my future husband Channing Tatum in, he just doesn't know it yet! As well as lots of chocolate and popcorn! The film was interesting to say the least and I kinda wish I had gravity defying roller blades like Chad!
(With fellow beauty queens and the mayor)

Personally I think that the new developments and attractions to Regent Circus will be great for Swindon, everything is now centralised with easy access and more choices of where to eat. It's just a shame that more of Swindon nightlife is closing down as well as shops like the Disney store! Very sad moment when I saw that store had closed :(

(Press night!)

After the fun of all the photographers taking pictures and feeling like VIP for the night, it was back to normal life for me as a personal trainer! Until the moment my sash arrived! I can now officially write that I am Miss Swindon Inspirational 2014/15 and will be representing Swindon in the UK finals on the 21st March in Wales! I've got alot to prep for, and have been training because for the first time in 3 years I will be doing the Swimwear round!! After a season in Zante, my body isnt how it used to be but I have the training, it's just putting it in practice! But once I am on that stage it will be a different story!

(From the South West finals to my new sash Miss Swindon!)

I've received my sash a little too late to make appearances and been truly busy with my new job, but one of my appearances as Miss Swindon Inspirational will be to model in the Brunel Vintage fayre! Now this really excites me as I love the vintage era, could see myself dressing up like this every day! It's free to come and you can see the fashion show as well as stalls, music and entertainment! Its running on the 14th and 15th March so come watch!

Thats all for me! Any charity ideas or events that I could attend, please feel free to message me but thank you for reading my first post as a Miss Swindon again ;)

Store openings and selfies with the Mayor

(With Miss Wiltshire GB, the Mayor and Miss Wiltshire)

Its been a quiet time after the Miss SW Inspirational heats, I've been working in Skegness for the past two weekends with my Club 1830 family, but managed to squeeze an appearance in before I literally took my suitcase with me after!! I was invited to open the new Moss Bros store in the Swindon Outlet Centre, by Sani who I helped model for when he opened his own stores with myself modelling on the front of them! That was 4 years ago and when I was just Miss Swindon Galaxy, how times have changed! I also invited along my fellow beauty queens because it's better with more crowns than just the one! We met all the area managers, directors, etc, given some wine (non alcoholic) as well as meeting the mayor who kept us laughing with all her funny stories!

(Selfie with the mayor of course!)

We cut the ribbon, looked pretty for a bit and then that was it!! Shame it was a suit shop otherwise we would be trying on all the clothes, another photoshoot in the shop haha! It was great to catch up with Nicole and Georgia as well, since we are planning a charity event to end all charity events!! The idea is swishing, this is clothes swapping. I did a similar event back in 2011 and want to have it on a bigger scale, also involving a fashion show, stalls, maybe even a charity pageant!! Who knows!!

(Christmas displays up, at the new store)

In other news I have reached the finals of both Miss Inspirational UK, Miss Progress UK as well as Face of England. For all of these pageants there is low sponsorship costs which provide a great deal back like advertising on websites, social media, material at the final, tickets and even a stall to further promote your business! It's nearly my fifth year in pageantry, I cant believe I havent given up the bug yet! I may not be the typical pageant girl, Im defo not up there with the international winners but I represent my county well and provide a good rolemodel by raising awareness and money for different charity and issues. Pageants has given me so much, I am not going to step down now I'm getting further!!

(The official pictures from SW come back!)

Another appearance planed to model for Rachel's Wedding's next wednesday, as well as a new job working at Nuffield Health as a Personal Trainer which I am super excited to get back into fitness again, for now I shall leave you with a picture from Thursday, of my pageant best friend Georgia who has now retired from pageants, me? Il be going to im 40 at least! haha

(Mini me haha)

Miss South West Inspirational finals AKA the moment I became Sandra Bullock

There is something I love more than pageants, I know!! More than the sparkling crowns, dresses, heels and T Stance poses, there is something that makes me feel so calm and happy and that is the beach! All the memories of when you were younger, going on holiday and topping up your tan (or in my case, sleeping on your morning off at Cherry Bay with a milkshake). What was amazing about this pageant day was it was at Weston Super Mare, on the pier!!! One of the best venues I have ever competed in! Getting off the station I was reminded about coming here 4 years ago with my friends to the T4 festival and getting lost for over any hour, now technology in the form of an I phone got me to the pier easy!

(With two of the gorge Woman contestants, made my day fun!!)

As soon as I had arrived, I knew this was a pageant different to any one I had done! Everyone was so diverse, different, interesting but most of all so happy to be there! No backstage dramas, everyone wanted to help each other, in a genuine way! We had some pageant coaching as well as our interviews! I wish I had not babbled so much in my interview as I had so many things planned in my head, but still I came across as bubbly and happy to be there, which of course I was!! We had plenty of time to get ready, I should of gone on some of the rides! We did have chips on the pier of course, and I had some pancakes with Cola and Haribo flavour Ice cream?! Crazy hey! First round was purple, pink or white tshirt with leggings for the opening, leggings I always worry about as over my big bottom they always go see through! Lucky H&M sell ultra thick ones!!

(Mixture of Mini, Teen, Miss and Woman in Opening round outfits)

We were lucky enough before the final to be treated to a firework display from the pier, our dressing room had amazing views, was very chilling if you wanted to stand on the pier though! And I always get a red nose if I stand in the cold for a second! Not a good look on stage aha! So after the fireworks, straight to the show! We all went out together, then by ourselves to introduce ourselves! I was afraid my shoes were going to slip off but I was confident, strutted and may have perfected a t stance?!! haha then rush off to change into fashion wear!! The change over time was simply not there!! It was ultra quick!!!

(My Disney Dress <3)

I saw after I took my selfie (after the round, there was no time beforehand) that I kept my opening round necklace on, where my disney dress had a necklace already sewn it! Double banded aha! I loved wearing my dress, so many compliments which means the world since it took so long to make!! I loved walking on stage, defo did a twirl in it too!! Last round was of course the evening wear round! I got to wear my cream jovani which of course comes from Stardust Boutique! Needed alot of body tape as its a bit too big on top for me but fits fine on the bottom half (big booty problems aha) and I loved my eleelegantlk, esp with a Ruth turn as well ;) One last walk on stage and then interval for all the scores to be counted up!!

(Evening gown selfie!)

After some amazing singing, raffle prizes, we were all called up and prizes given out! I didnt win the main category which wasn't surprising to myself as I had only entered last minute, usually I am publicity queen, but the winner Maria truly deserved it and shows it is not judged just on looks, but on everything which is what a beauty pageant should be! Beauty on the inside as well as the outside! Maria has an amazing charity journey challenge with the pageant being one, and now gets to walk with her 50s glam again ;)

(Like the movie!!)

I did win one of the best awards in any pageant which is Miss Congeniality!! This award is voted by all the girls backstage and the fact I won even though I spent half the day being my normal, weird self just means the world to me! From someone who has social anxiety and depression, getting the chance to enter such a great pageant and come away with an amazing award makes me proud! Also I will be going to the finals in March! So I will get to see all these faces again!!

(From my first to my last... of 2014 anyways!)

Looking back at where I first started my love affair with pageants, to where I am now (I Have eyebrows which is a relief!! haha) it makes me feel blessed that I have been able to compete with such amazing people, travel all over the Uk and even branch out to Paris! I have raised thousands for different charities, made life long pageant friends as well as calling some my best friends, as well as make Wiltshire proud! I have overcome my shyness around new people that I have been able to successfully complete a season abroad as a rep where you kinda HAVE to speak to new people! I wouldnt have the confidence to do that if I hadn't of competed! My smile still stays the same, as each and every competition I am gratefgratefulve something fufilling in my life! Plus I get to be a princess and live my childhood dreams!! If you want to enter one, do it! It will honesty be a life changer! Now I have the challenge of March 2015 UK finals, a massive charity event but most of all finding a job that will let me be a princess!!

Lots of love
