Disney Take 2!

(Face of the Globe England selcetions)

If there is any pageant that is truly me, you will know it either has a harry potter theme or a disney princess theme. Since Miss Harry Potter is not a pageant yet, Face of the Globe fills the bill!! I was back again at Weston Super Mare for more pageant activities this time the FOTG England Selections, South West! Two years ago I competed and came top 5, was a massive shock because I remember being half asleep as I had worked til 4 in the morning the pervious night before and they called my name last, and I was in a sleep daze. The first thing I said in my speech was IM GOING TO DISNEYLAND YEYY!! And it lived up to all my dreams!! Finally with being delayed with trains on strike and late buses, I had arrived at the pier!!

(First Round- T-shirt and leggings)

The girls were all amazing, the changing room was full of laughter and everyone helping each other whilst half wearing their tops to not get sweat marks on them yet not show off their bras! Only backstage at a pageant do you get some truly funny things happen!! I was breaking in the Disney heels again whilst already nursing sore feet from my birthday night out the night before (wearing awesome Marvel shoes that time!!) As soon as the pageant started, nerves kicked in, the place was filled and it was off to attempt to walk in sky high shoes without breaking an ankle or two!!

(Round two- Rainbow wear)

Once you get the first round out of the way, you can truly relax and have fun, which is why I love the raibow round as thats what you are meant to be, sassy and loving life! Me, Deena and Amy did the charlies angle pose as we walked on as a three, complete with dress swishing, laughs and beyonce poses!! I loved my high low dress, which I did try to give away when it was a ballgown but no one seemed to want a Paris famous dress so I changed it up, took all the underlaying out, made it into a high low and strutted away!!

(Evening gown selfie stick selfie!)

Last round was of course the evening dress round, I had my jovani from Stardust Boutique, wearing all white for the first time ever and channelling my Greek Goddess! With the evening round we had an onstage interview as well, and since I was the last one on I had to listen to everyone else's whilst trying not to listen to my aching feet or get too sweaty since my dress was pure white! Once I was on stage, I just love talking! I talked about hula hooping, about my experience with pageants and of course my amazing sponsors who were the loudest in the room!! One judge said they loved listening to me talk, which I was very happy about! I did my evening walk, my dress was uber comfy for once and then it was waiting for results time!!

(TOP 5, DISNEYLAND AGAIN!!!)

It was like a film moment, all the finalist were gathered in a circle, holding hands. The first name was called up, Amy, we all clap and congratulate and back to holding hands, nervous, struggling to breathe thinking have you made it, did the judges like you, should i have covered my tattoos or did a different walk? The second finalist is called, and its MY NAME!!! I'm so excited! I hear the cheers and as I walk on stage and collect my certificate I do an excited bounce which I really hope was caught on camera! haha as you can see from the top 5 photo, white was the colour!! The overall winner was my main girl from inspiration Celene who was simply amazing, couldn't of been a better winner! But we were all winners as we faced our fears and sassied down that catwalk!

(This is why I love Face of the Globe!!)

So i have made it, my birthday weekend ended with a place in the international finals of face of the globe! I now need to find the money to actually get to Paris, as well as fundraise my little butt off (well it's not little but that is the phrase!), and get lots of appearances in! But of course I already had one lined up the very next day, shattered from lack of sleep and all that travelling (more delayed and cancelled trains!). I was judging the children's school ducks for the Swindon Duck Race!!

(Duck race!! )

I was joined by my fellow beauty queens, we chose the superman duck as the overall winner as well as two sparkly and fluffy ducks!! We also had a chance to look round the stalls, I was gutted I overslept and missed the dog show as Roxy would of got first prize! We also had a great little vintage find at the Close the Door stall which is a charity which helps the local community, and they sell lots of bits and bobs as well as nearly new clothing. We have been asked to model at their fashion show in August as they will be having ballgowns!! Yey!! I got a great vintage jumpsuit as well as a black gothic top and coral dress which will be great for my graduation!!

(For less than a fiver!!)

Overall it was a great day, but the weekend has left me totally knackered!! Now I need to plan lots of events, there is a charity pageant in the pipeline which I will be calling on the people of swindon to help but for now some much deserved sleep!!! Thank you everyone, to my sponsors who came all the way to Weston to cheer me on, simply beautiful and little gem's, i am so blessed to have you in my life! Also to my sister for helping me back to Swindon after the cancelled trains, and for being there throughout my pageantry hobbie as well as all the girls who made the day amazing and finally all the team at Face of the Globe for having me as part of the FOTG family again!

 (Ducks, ducks and more ducks!)

Lots of Love

Saturday 16 May 2015

So would you like to be a butterfly or spiderman?

(Feeling summery ready for today's double appearance)

Saturday 16th May, a good day as it's 3 days until my birthday, it was very very hot which means the shorts came out and it was also the day of the Dockle's Charity fundraiser and the Royal Wootton Bassett Carnival parade!! First of all it was heading to the dockle as I was to be the face painter for the morning, painting both the children and adults of Swindon with butterflies, spiderman, rainbows and someone actually requested Elsa which I attempted (the little girl was very happy with it so it couldn't of been that bad!!)

(This was the attempted Elsa hehe)

The fundraiser was a family day out with the fire brigade and fireman sam heading down to entertain and teach all about fire safety There was also so many amazing cakes as well as a raffle, and of course face painting. The charities were CLIC Sargent and Helen Douglas House, as well as my portion of the face painting going to the Rainbow Child Foundation. Miss Wiltshire was also attending, helping organise the event and we had our picture taken for the Wetherspoons paper :)

(Fire truck!!)

Then we had to quick change and head to Royal Wootton Bassett for the Parade! I love how much of a community Bassett really is, I loved living there and on days like this the town really come together! It seemed everyone was out watching the parade or being inolved! We had some time to spare before the start of the parade so me and Nicole got ourselves an icecream, and had a few pictures with little princesses and big bikers.

(Jade, Nicole and myself at the start!)

It was scorching!! Just seen the tanline on my wrist from my hairband :/ It was a very long walk, very glad we wore flats, although not sure if they went with my Sherri Hill dress but alternative pageant girl prefers comfort over style!!! We got to practice our royal wave and we had a marching band of spidermen behind us who provided the music and entertainment!! It was a really great event and so happy to be a part of it! As soon as I got it, I crashed and had a nap!!! Overall a really great day, raised some funds, walked in a parade and its now only a week left until the Face of the Globe SouthWest heats!! I have one more appearance and finishing off my scrapbook, as well as working working working, and maybe a bit of birthday cake!!!

It's all about the Vintage look darling!

(The original Wiltshire Beauty Queens)

Last weekend saw our original Miss Wiltshire Ruth become Mrs Wiltshire as she wed Jason to become Mrs Wade. Of course a pageant princess who has modelled an array of wedding dresses, it was exciting to see what her dress was going to be like (she wouldn't tell us, even with Georgia's constant questions hehe). But in the end she looked stunning, the day was amazing, location was beautiful, the cake was so so good and the free wine bar..... let's not go into that! It was so good to all reunite once again with the original four that made pageants worth doing. If people ever ask why I do them, it's these girls right here, friendships that last through time! Next year it will be georgia getting married and I will be the proud Maid of Honour!!

(Vintage make up and hair done!)

Onto the new members of the Wiltshire beauty queens, and after coming back from a crazy night of partying in flip flops (great idea Ruth!), we were modelling at Your Inspired Beauty's Charity Fashion show in aid of Prospect Hospice. The theme was the Ascot Races, and I was in Carry On Vintage. I had the retro hairstyle done by Sass's hairdressers and make up by Your Inspired Beauty. I was ready to rock that catwalk!!

(Pout with the bestie)

Never a serious moment! There was also lots of stalls including sweet carts, forever living (great for aloe vera and georgia sells it, wink wink) and also a great handmade shoe store which had a pair of marvel comic shoes in a size 7 which since they were in my size and my birthday is next week, i just HAD to have them. And helping charity and all that ;)

(Second outfit from Carry on Vintage)

The catwalk went amazing, everyone was so friendly, the crowd loved it and I heard the count for the funds raised was over £2000! So happy to be part of such a great event and look forward to next year!! It was also great to catch up with the new additions of the Wiltshire beauty queens, including Miss Bath GB (who lives in Wiltshire so she can be included hehe). It's great that all these different pageant systems can work together to provide the community with help, guidance and a bit of sparkle!

(Catissa, Emily, Me and Georgia)

Only 12 days until the Face of the Globe South West finals, think I have all my outfits together. I've been so busy moving into my own little place that it's been all go go go!! This weekend I have two great events, I am helping the Dockle Farmhouse with their charity event, doing the facepainting which half the money will be going to the Rainbow Child Foundation and then whisked straight away to the Royal Wootton Bassett Carnival where I will be marching with the other beauty queens. As well as turning 26, catch up with more work, live gigs and then before you know it the finals will be here!! Eeppp!! Wish me luck!!

Lots of love

Sunday 3 May 2015

A little rain never hurt nobody....

(Carry on Vintage)

My my my, what a busy weekend it has turned out to be!! Let's go back to the beginning with Saturday, where in the morning I got to go to one of my favuorite places to try on clothes, Carry On Vintage.  I went to my dress fitting to pick out my outfits for the Charity Fashion show in aid of Prospect Hospice next Sunday, or rather let the outfits chose me. It didnt take long at all, they were a perfect fit, I felt amazing and I really want to take them all home but unfortunetly I'm not that rich!! I can't wait to be all vintage and retro again, my fav era and wear some great designs!!

(MS Socitey mile walk)

Then it was to head over to Lydaird part to start the MS Society Mile walk, I lovethe colour orange and the charity is a great local charity, raising awareness for MS as well as helping the local community to deal and combat the illness!!! There were lots of children who decided to run the race, and I joined in thanks to my little helper! We got a medal, certificate and also a lovely BBQ. Yes I ran in a tiara!!!

(My new best friend)

It was great to hear about all the events and fundrasing they have been doing, and the youngsters were even more excited when they were interviewed for Swindon 105.5. They loved it! I was even convienced to do cartwheels and streches! I can't wait to be more involved throughout the year!!

(A Disney princess inbetween two frozen princesses)

Roll on sunday and also roll on the rain!!! But this didn't put anyone off as people still came in their numbers to the Swindon Autism Funday at the Swindon Rugby club. There was so many stalls, and other princesses! I was helping out Beni Bear, being the Patron of their charity, it was my duty to bring my sparkly crown and help out with the judging of the Princess and Piarte fancy dress. Also to raise awareness of what Beni Bear does. There was lots of different jewelry which all the proceeds go to the Beni Bear.

(A knitted crown for a cuddly polar bear!!)

It's so refreshing to see passionate people about the charity and I am so happy to be involved with this great cause! Even if the heavens opened and the rain came pouring in!! I wore my homemade disney dress which got alot of compliments, as well as my new sash pin with pride and I got given a beautiful hand made tiara, had to fight the polar bear for it!!

(Princess and piarte Beni! Just a tad wet!!)

Please take the tie to visit the website

www.benibear.co.uk

and have a look at all the amazing things they do! And speaking of bears, thanks to Beni, the Scrapstore and everyone else in Swindon who donated, we helped Finlay break the world record and he collected an amazing.......

15,534 bears!!!!!

This is amazing news and one that has brought a nation together, now all the teddy bears that have been used will be donated to various charity shops who will now benefit even more! So double the charity!!! Time to rest for a busy week ahead, next weekend it is of course Ruth's wedding as well as the Charity Fashion show. I have also been asked to face paint at the Charity funday at the Dockle Farmhouse on the 16th may, I can't wait to help out and also raise some funds for the Rainbow child foundation since i had to cancel my spinathon (too poorly :( ). For now, i'm going to try and get myself nice and dry, and get some well deserved sleep!
